Bottle shop refrigeration service
Refrigeration is your single biggest power draw, and door seals are the cheapest thing on the whole system. Perished seals and a blocked condenser can add thousands a year to the bill while quietly killing the compressor.
And if it's still running
Know what it's going to cost you — before it costs you
A licenced tech goes through every bit of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration you've got, and writes down what condition it's in, what needs doing and when, and what it's realistically going to cost you over the next year and the next five. Plain English, one PDF.
When this equipment stops, stock starts dying the same day.

What the report actually says
What you’ve got
| Equipment | Age | Condition | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glass-door walk-in | ~9 yrs | Action | Six doors, four seals perished, condenser filthy |
| Reach-in display fridges x3 | ~6 yrs | Watch | Fan motors noisy on one |
| Shop split system | ~9 yrs | Serviceable |
Needs attention now
- Four perished door seals. Every one is a permanent leak of cold air into your shop. The compressor never gets a break, and you’re paying for it every hour you’re open.
- Condenser is filthy. Restricted airflow means high head pressure, which is the fastest route to a dead compressor.
- Noisy fan motor. Replace it for a couple of hundred now or replace the whole evaporator later.
Your service year
| When | What |
|---|---|
| Monthly | Visual check on door seals (your staff) |
| April | Full service — coils, seals, gas, controls |
| Oct | Pre-summer service, condenser clean priority |
| Annual | Split system |
What it costs — next 12 months
| Item | Low | High |
|---|---|---|
| Walk-in service, 2 visits | $700 | $1,150 |
| Door seals (4) | $480 | $840 |
| Reach-ins (3) | $450 | $900 |
| Split system | $180 | $280 |
| Total | $1,810 | $3,170 |
Coming in five years
- Walk-in compressor — $2,800–5,500
- Reach-in replacement — $1,800–4,500 each, usually replaced not repaired
- Door and frame refurbishment — $2,000–5,000 across six doors
Quietly costing you money
This is the big one for you. A bottle shop’s refrigeration is its single largest power draw, and four failed seals plus a blocked condenser can add $1,500–3,000 a year to the bill. The seals cost under a grand. That’s the whole argument.
What I’d do first
- All four seals — fastest payback of anything on this list
- Condenser clean and full service
- That fan motor before it takes the coil with it
How it works
$150 to come out. Everything else depends on what's there.
- I come out — $150.I go through the lot: what you've got, how old it is, what condition it's in. Takes an hour or two depending on how much is in the place.
- You get it in writing within 48 hours. One PDF. What's there, what needs doing and when, what it should cost you over the year, and what's coming further out.
- Anything that needs fixing, I quote on what I find.I can't price a service off a website — it depends on the unit, the access and what turns up when it's open. You'll get a real number, not a guess.
- If you'd rather not think about it again, I'll handle it.Scheduled servicing across the year, timed around your trade. No lock-in — plenty of people take the report and go it alone, and that's genuinely fine.
